Dale has finishing carting the barley & fertilizer, so over the last 2 weeks he has been doing a few different jobs, sheep work, carting sheep & fencing with a few different offsiders.

It was back to work for Dale this week carting Barley from the storage bags in the paddock into the silos in Esperance.

Once he was unloaded he brought fertilizer back to the farms to stockpile, getting ready for the seeding of this years crop.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone we hope 2011 is good to you all.

We went camping at Roses Beach about 40ks west of Esperance to bring in the new year. Caught a few fish but nothing to brag about, the surf was fairly choppy. We might be in WA but we celebrated QLD midnight to bring in the new year,we hope thats not a sign we are getting old!

Between Christmas & New Year the bosses shouted all the crew an Eco Discovery Tour of the east coastline of Esperance. We did some rock climbing by 4WD & got wonderful 360 degree views, drove along the beach near Cape Le Grande National Park for 50ks, the lads did some sand surfing. Had lunch at Duke of Orleans Bay, stopped at the Condinjup Tavern for an ale on the way back home. A great day was had by all .

We had a quiet lunch together in Esperance then joined the Walter's & their family for dinner.

Friday December 24th, 2010

Harvest is finished, just over 12,000 hectares in 8 and half weeks, not to bad going. This week has been a bit slow going because of the weather, the moisturiers was high in the grain, so Dale had to deliver it to Cascade Grains to be dried. Cascade Grain is owned by half a dozen farmers in the area ,Wayne is one the owners. Once it is dried they reload it then deliver it to the Grain Silo. Lucky we have finished as we've had showers off & on the last 2 days.

At the beginning of the week it was very cold & overcast so harvesting of the wheat was very slow, by the weekend it had warmed up. The crew are over halfway through the 4500 hectares of wheat.
While Dale & I were over east they harvested the 1200 hectares of Peas & they are stored in the long plastic bags the same as the Lupins.
