Mum's 80th Birthday

The main reason we came over east was for my mum's 80th birthday. On saturday night we had a small party at Dad & Mum's in Finley to celebrate with the family & friends.

Cruiser Breakdown

On Wednesday on our way into Perth we had a breakdown in the cruiser, the Radiator blow its top off, we were very lucky, no other damage was down. We rang roadside assist which were very helpful,we had a 2 1/2 hour wait then we got a ride into Perth with a very nice couple John & Judy form Corrigin which is 190 ks from Perth with our cruiser on a trailer, they delivered us to Trent's in Belmont then the next day we had a mobile radiator person come to Trents & repaired it.

Tuesday 17th January, 2012

The crew finished the Peas, so harvest is over, the 3 Danish guys left thursday of last week.
Over the last couple of weeks Mark has had a shearing crew shearing some of the six thousand head of sheep they run between the 6 farms. On saturday Dale & I went to Males farm & picked up 104 bales of wool & brought back to Wayne & Chris's shed, the shearers finished today.
We are heading into Perth tomorrow for a trip over east for a few weeks.

Trip to Jerramungup

This week Dale's picking up the grain which the Walters had cleaned at Cascade Grain and taking it between the farms and storing it the Silos ready for the seeding in the Autumn.

On Sunday Dale & I did a trip to Jerramungup, its about 2 1/2 hours on the highway to Albany, to deliver a load of seed wheat the Walters had sold to a farmer over there.

Saturday 7th Janaury 2012

On New Years Eve when we had the storm at Wayne & Chris's farm, down at Mungi & Stanbray the farms where they were harvesting, only had 4 ml.So the crew got back into the harvest on Monday afternoon and finished down there on Thursday before we got another 25 ml.
On Friday the crew started bring the machinary back to Wayne & Chris's to do the Peas, but its slow going.

On Friday night we had a B B Q with all the Walter family & crew for the windup of Harvest.

Happy New Year

We wish all our friends & family a Happy New Year. We welcomed in the new year down at Cascade hall with the locals last night. About 5 o'clock we had 20 ml of rain in 20 minutes & we had a very good display of Lighting & Thunder, we got our own fireworks to bring in the New Year. All up we got 30 ml so we don't know when we will finish the harvest.
